Happy Monday! It was a beautiful weekend here in Roma and we decided to do some more exploring on foot. This time we headed to Villa Borghese, the third largest public park in the city. I love seeing all of the flowers and trees beginning to bloom here–spring is officially about to begin! Fun fact, though: while most of you experienced the time change last weekend, we won’t set our clocks forward here until March 29th. About halfway through the park, we came upon a tiny restaurant offering gourmet sandwiches, chips, and of course, coffee, beer and wine. I suppose by now we should be used to seeing wine offered everywhere, but it still amuses us that it’s socially acceptable to drink it no matter the time of day (and I am okay with that). After lunch, we continued walking and ended up being rewarded with an incredible view of the old city from an overlook, which is what is shown in the last photograph. We stopped for photos, and if you’re wondering whether I walked the park in these shoes, the answer is absolutely not! My hubby often carries a backpack with us containing the proper footwear if we happen to find a good back drop. 🙂 To be quite honest, unless we are going to dinner, you’ll usually only find me in sneakers or flats now because until our car is delivered, 90% of the time we’ll walk anywhere we want to go.
There’s nothing cozier to me than an oversized sweater and I fell in love with the color of this soft turquoise cowlneck style to wear for chilly spring weather. Pairing it with polished nude pumps was a quick way to dress it up after switching out of my sneakers.
