I can’t think of a better way to fight winter’s chill than by donning a blanket-like wool poncho (you may remember me wearing a similar one here in brown). Unfortunately, there aren’t many similar options I can recommend since the winter retail season is coming to a close, but rest assured that Ralph Lauren offers beautiful new styles like this one every year. You may have luck by shopping the clearance racks, too. I snagged this poncho last year for 70% off while doing some post-holiday shopping in Florida–you can often find cold weather gems in places with a warm climate since they are not in high demand!
The best part about rocking a cape or poncho is that the rest of the outfit doesn’t require much thought. I simply layered a slim turtleneck underneath this one, wore gray denim to bring out the colors of the plaid, then added thigh high boots to balance out the oversized silhouette of the poncho for a streamlined finish–simple and chic!
