I woke up to a winter wonderland this morning, so it was the perfect opportunity to cozy up by the fireplace and work on my Italian language lessons. Less than half of the Italian population speaks fluent English, so it’s vital for me to learn their language in order to navigate the country comfortably. So far, the program I’m using has covered greetings, how to ask for help, ordering food and wine, and basic shopping phrases–the latter of which I quickly absorbed. There is so much more to learn, but at least I’ve gotten the important information, right?! All jokes aside, I am really looking forward to being immersed in Italian culture since living there will force me out of my comfort zone into a world of new experiences and endless possibilities for personal growth.
Let’s switch gears to talk about this chic winter ensemble. Burgundy is one of my favorite fall/winter colors and I love how it looks with black. This cable knit sweater and pleated plaid skirt combination may be reminiscent of a private school uniform, but thigh-high boots and polished accessories ensure sophistication, while a fur vest layered over my sweater provides warmth without sacrificing style.
