The first thing that comes to mind whenever I think of a cold-weather piece that’s both cozy and chic is a poncho or cape. I’m not sure how something so oversized can be equally as stylish, but I won’t object. Another bonus: you don’t need to accessorize much since the top is the focus. Ponchos and capes are perfect in fall and winter: for now I usually wear a short sleeve shirt or tank underneath, but as the weather gets colder, I’ll layer with a long sleeve tee or turtleneck.
The trick to rocking this loose style is to choose your coordinating bottoms wisely: the best way I know to keep from looking like a child in adult’s clothing is to pair them with my skinniest jeans or leggings and a pair of sleek heels. I created the illusion of longer legs here by pairing this cowlneck poncho with leather-like jeans and matching tall boots.
