This beautiful vintage scarf has been hanging in my closet for awhile and I often think about how I need to get more use from it. Silk scarves often have a rep as being “stuffy” or “flight attendant” so I wanted to share a look that blends the old with modern pieces.

Since the scarf is the focal point of my outfit, I used a simple bright red shift dress to set it off and kept the rest minimal. What makes this accessory even more special is the fact it belonged to my husband’s grandmother. One thing is for sure: she was one stylish lady!  I feel lucky to have inherited some of her gorgeous, unique pieces. It can be tricky to style silk scarves and I definitely need some more practice, but I think this is a good start (thanks to the help of my hubby!)
