Back for another Friday Five full of goodies and a few surprises that I can’t wait to share with you! Have a fabulous weekend!
- Sunflower bouquet
- Brahmin “Stella” pouch
- In Style/September 2014 Fall issue
- End table
- Kettle corn
The other day, I came home to this beautiful bouquet sitting on my front porch. Sunflowers are my favorite and these have to be the most perfect I’ve ever seen. I racked my brain for a reason I may be receiving flowers, but couldn’t think of anything special about that particular day. The note inside read, “Sometimes you just need flowers!” That sneaky hubby of mine…he really is the sweetest. Seeing these cheerful blooms every time I walk in my living area makes my heart smile. Some of the best and most memorable things in life are little surprises like this.
I was so excited to receive this large Stella pouch from Brahmin as a prize for sharing a fall Brahmin photo on Instagram. Included with the pouch was also the nicest handwritten note. In addition to the outstanding quality of their products, another thing I love about this company is their customer relations. If you ever have a question or comment about their products, you will almost always get a response. I can’t wait to use this as a clutch and as a cosmetics bag to go inside my larger totes or overnight travel bag.
To join in on the fun, share your transitional fall style on Instagram (including your Brahmin), using the hashtag #MyBrahminFall. Every week, they will choose a new winner and with prizes as fabulous as this one being awarded, don’t miss out! For more photos that don’t make it onto the blog, you can follow me on Instagram @meagansmoda.
My annual favorite piece of mail arrived a few days ago–the In Style fall fashion issue. In my opinion, this is the best magazine for style inspiration because they review products at both high and lower end price points. In addition to page after page of fall outfit ideas, I love to look at the ad campaigns to see what all of the brands are offering for the new season.
Last weekend, the area where we live held its 10th annual “yard crawl” which entails 43 miles of yard sales! The main event takes place on Saturday, but my husband and I hit a few sales on Thursday and Friday as well. I found so many treasures, including this handmade wooden table from Amish Country, Pennsylvania. We had been wanting an end table for our hallway, and this is the perfect size. We took it home for only $22! Besides this table, I also found various antique jars, a 1923 farmhouse-style medicine cabinet and table, and a framed print, just to name a few. I was completely exhausted after 8 hours of yard crawling, but it was worth every minute!
During our “yard crawl” adventure, we stopped for lunch at the local farmers market held every weekend in our town. I bought a HUGE bag of homemade kettle corn for $4 (I know, right?!) and have been snacking on it all week. It always tastes the best when still warm, but I love it nonetheless.
