Over the weekend, we spent some time visiting and wine tasting with family and friends at a few vineyards. In my opinion, there can’t be anything much better than drinking wine surrounded by gorgeous countryside. The first winery we visited was Glen Manor Vineyards, located near Skyline Drive in Front Royal, Virginia. The outdoor seating area directly faced the mountainside, which offered incredible views. I prefer wines with a hint of sweetness, so my pick for this winery was the 2013 Petit Manseng. The second winery we stopped by, Linden Vineyards, was only about 10 minutes away. This vineyard sat atop a large hill and the open-air porch looked out over the grapevines below. I enjoyed a glass of their (delicious) 2012 Riesling Vidal and definitely plan on returning for more.
To keep cool on this hot day spent outdoors, I chose a sleeveless chambray popover and denim cutoffs. The light denim fabric and loose fit of both the shirt and shorts kept me comfortable all afternoon. Turquoise beaded jewelry and metallic gladiator sandals gave the look a touch of bohemian flair.
