A chilly day at the beach calls for light layering. I battled the ocean breeze by first using a maxi dress as my bikini cover-up. Adding a gauzy summer scarf in the prettiest coral color from J. Crew Factory kept my neck and shoulders warm and a wide-brim hat provided sun protection. I rounded out the ensemble with a few metallic touches using gladiator sandals and a matching crossbody bag. The best thing about this simple look is the way it can easily transition from the shore to drinks and lunch/dinner–or in my case, the ice cream parlor!
