TGIF, everyone! Are all of you as ready for the weekend as I am? After the monsoon-like weather we had for most of the week, it’s supposed to be gorgeous and I intend to enjoy it!
What I’m loving this week:
- Jewelry Clasp Holder
- Jergens BB Perfecting Body Cream
- Bonne Bell Lipsmacker balm
- Turquoise Statement Necklace
- Essie “Fashion Playground” Mint Polish
This Sunday is my one year wedding anniversary. It’s hard to believe a year has already flown by! Since my husband is away for work at the moment, he mailed a gorgeous silver bracelet to me as an early gift. The problem? I couldn’t hook the teeny tiny clasp by myself! I told my hubby I guessed I would have to wait until he’s home to help me put it on. A few days later, this little gadget appeared on my doorstep. It’s a handy little jewelry holder that grips one end of your accessory while you hook the clasp. Leave it to my husband, ever the problem-solver, to fix an issue even when he isn’t around!
I picked up this skin perfecting cream by Jergens a few weeks ago when I was browsing in Ulta. BB cream, which has been popular over the last few years as a facial perfecter, is now available in a formula for your body? I had to try it. The cream is said to “brighten and illuminate, even skin tone, visibily firm skin, and minimize the appearance of imperfections” within 5 days. After using this daily for a week, I will say that my skin had a brighter appearance . The glow it adds is similar to that of a gradual tanning lotion, without the mess and uneven appearance. However, don’t mistake it for a self-tanner. Your skin will not be bronze, only slightly darker! My verdict: it’s a nice lotion that provides a subtle glow and plenty of moisture without a greasy feel. However, it’s a bit pricier than most Jergens products, so if you like their Natural Glow gradual tanning lotion, that works great if you want a little more color.
I’ll admit it–I’m addicted to Bonne Bell Lipsmackers and have been since around the age of 5. This is also when my love affair with lip products began. I must have tried every Lipsmacker flavor there was when I was little–Dr. Pepper or Orange Crush, anyone? No other lip balm compares to the smooth, creamy, long-lasting feel on my lips as when I use this. I was really bummed when I had to buy another product since this wasn’t available when I ran out–but alas, I found it at Target this week! And…wait for it….guess what I found when I was searching for the balm to link on my post? AN ENTIRE LIPSMACKERS WEBSITE. Seriously, check it out–the flavors are incredible: Cherry Starburst, Pina Colada, and Vanilla Malt Shake, just to name a few. My inner child is going crazy! I’ll never run out again–my day has officially been made (and an order is in the works!) My only complaint is that the shipping is outrageous unless you spend $50, which is a lot of lipsmackers!
Turquoise and coral jewelry just says “summer” to me. Piperlime recently had a 25% off sale and I bought this beautiful statement necklace. This piece looks more expensive than it really is ($20) because the jewels are actually painted resin. It isn’t too heavy on my neck, which is also nice. I don’t like to invest too much money in my costume jewelry since trends come and go pretty quickly. Unfortunately, since this particular necklace was already marked down when I bought it, it’s now sold out. I found some other pretty turquoise options here and here, and here.
I’ve been loving my fresh mint mani all week. This shade is so spring-y and goes with just about everything. The color, “Fashion Playground,” is described as a pistachio shimmer. You can see the shimmer flecks in the bottle, but it isn’t very noticeable once it’s on your nails. It’s such a perfect shade of mint that I love it anyway. The formula can be streaky if you aren’t careful, though. I found that it looked best with three layers, plus a a topcoat.
