I am writing this post and waiting for the impending blizzard that’s predicted to bring over a foot of snow. I’ve procured all the necessities for a few days at home: milk, bread, candles batteries, and most importantly, plenty of wine! I hope all of you readers along the U.S. East Coast stay safe over the next few days! I’m just praying we don’t lose power and can stay warm. In honor of Valentine’s Day, I’m sharing some things I’ve been loving over the past week.
First off is this delectable vanilla mousse cheesecake. Since my hubby and I won’t be together for Valentine’s, I made this last week so we could celebrate early. We paired it with a raspberry dessert wine from a local winery, and the result was a perfect balance of sweet and tart tastes. The dessert looks fancy, but is actually a very simple recipe and can be found here. I like to garnish it according to the holiday or occasion for a little more color.
Of course I had to paint my nails red or pink for Valentine’s Day, but I couldn’t decide which to wear. The solution: the perfect mix of pink and red in “Koala Bear-y” by OPI (available here). This may be my new favorite.
I received this perfume as a Christmas gift (available here) and have been wearing it a lot lately. It’s a nice blend that isn’t too sweet or too floral. I like to wear it over the lotion (here) for more lasting power. I also love Philosophy’s new scent, “Loveswept” (here). If I didn’t already have enough perfume, I would have purchased it as soon as I got a whiff!
Bare Minerals is my favorite makeup brand, and I’m a sucker for any and all pink lipgloss. This is their newest shade for spring in “Heartbreaker” (here). It’s a very soft and natural baby pink. If I want more color, I’ll layer it over their Moxie lipstick in “Speak Your Mind” (here).
Hot pink patent pointy pumps…I’m in love! These were a Valentine’s gift from my husband and they are just begging to be paired with black and navy this spring. I love a pair of statement heels and these definitely fit the bill. Thank you, babe!
The latest addition to my handbag collection: this charming tote from Dooney & Bourke (here). The chevron print is so fun and really pops on a tote style. I know this will be a go-to bag for me in the warm months. Last weekend, QVC featured this as their Today’s Special Value item. Not only was it discounted just for that day, but they also offered it on easy pay over four months. If you don’t already know about QVC’s Easy Pay, it’s a great way to nab some fabulous items without having to shell out for it all at once. This color sold out on QVC, but there’s a similar design available from Nordstrom in black that’s also super cute (here).
