Hi everyone! I am writing this as snow falls outside my window. I find a snow day at home to be so comforting. There’s nothing like spending the afternoon with a good book, a blanket, and a mug of hot chocolate.
I wore this outfit while running errands over the weekend. Despite the multiple thick layers, I can’t begin to say how bitterly cold it was while the wind blew during this 20-some degree session. I think if I had added a thin shirt as a base layer underneath my sweaters, that would have helped tremendously. Note to self: remember this when getting dressed over the next few below-freezing degree days!
About my hair style…whenever I wear this updo, I have a lot of people ask how long it takes, if it’s complicated, etc. when in actuality it involves two steps:
- Twist
- Pin
I know that sounds a lot easier than it looks, but it’s all I do. Starting at the crown of my head, I use bobby pins to twist and pin down small sections of hair until I reach the base of my neck. It may appear to be precise, but the pinning is really haphazard and only takes about ten minutes. Stay tuned for a few hair tutorials in future blog posts, where I will show the steps in more detail. For now, it’s time for me to go make that hot chocolate (with marshmallows, of course!)
