As part of our date weekend in D.C., we went to dinner at Fiola and saw a Christmas performance of Handel’s “Messiah” at the Kennedy Center. I had never seen a performance with opera singers and it was truly astounding to hear and watch live.
It’s safe to say that a cream colored coat, black lace dress, and pearl necklace will always be classic pieces. This LOFT dress gets a modern update with its cap sleeves and scalloped trim. The lace really pops against the beige lining. This pearl necklace isn’t your average strand thanks to the varying sizes of beads adorned with chunky crystals. The cut of this coat is a little boxy, so I created shape using a wide belt.
Black patent heels are also a definite staple every woman should own. For years, I’ve daydreamed about a pair of heels like these Louboutins. My husband gave these to me as an early gift. I was blown away by both my hubby’s surprise and the craftsmanship of the heels. They are truly beautiful shoes. I know it sounds silly, but I was actually kind of sad after wearing them and seeing the first scuff marks from use!! I can’t wait to wear these for years to come.
