I spent all of yesterday in Madison, Virginia taking professional photos for the blog with my sweet, super talented friend, Rachel May. She was the photographer for my wedding this past May. My husband and I decided to set our wedding date only six months after our engagement, and last winter, I remember panicking that we wouldn’t be able to find a good photographer with such short notice. After many dead-end phone calls, another booked photographer kindly recommended Rachel and gave me her number. I called immediately and as luck would have it, the only free date she had in May was our wedding day! Rachel and I just seemed to click right away when we met and the rest is history. My husband and I have thousands of amazing photos to cherish forever thanks to her hard work. I feel so lucky to call her a true friend and can’t thank her enough for spending so much time taking photos for my blog. Please take a few minutes to check out more of her work at www.rachelmayblog.com!
A few years ago, I would never have imagined I’d willingly pair two different patterns together and love the result. Even though it may be “fashionably correct” to mix certain patterns, I’m still a little hesitant sometimes. However, I find something harmonious about stripes and floral together, especially if they’re in the same color family. As soon as I saw this berry striped tee, I knew exactly which of my scarves I’d be wearing with it. I love how the sweater is moto-inspired, yet it’s so cozy and warm. From the moto jacket, I continued the zipper theme with ankle zip jeans and suede booties. The cross body bag also has zippers on the front–I was modeling Rachel’s here but now I think I need one myself!
