I went to the annual “Autumn Fest” BBQ/wine festival in my hometown last weekend and it was the perfect opportunity to capture fall colors on the trees. There is just nothing else like seeing the flaming gold, red, and orange leaves in person to truly feel the season’s presence.
Something else that screams “fall” would have to be this plaid poncho from Ralph Lauren. I have been watching for a sale on this since August and snapped it up immediately when I found a markdown. It was actually on sale at both Nordstrom and Macy’s, but Macy’s had the better deal. Plus, Macy’s offers it in petite sizes, which is good for ponchos if you’re short since they can overwhelm your frame. A buckle and gold buttons give just the right amount of glamour for the option of dressing it up as well. The wool is slightly itchy, but easily fixed by layering a long sleeve tee underneath. This was the perfect piece to wear at Autumn Fest since the weather was chilly and slightly damp. It’s like a stylish blanket you can wear, and who doesn’t love that? 🙂
