{ Fall Drive in Germany: Wool fedora, Sweater coat & Fringe booties }

My weekend was pretty uneventful, which was much needed: I spent a few hours yesterday cleaning out my closets and even though I haven’t totally finished, I already have four bags of shoes and clothing ready to donate. I don’t necessarily hold onto clothes for nostalgic reasons, but I always think, “Oh, maybe I will wear this again…” and I’m trying to stick to my new rule that if it hasn’t been worn in the last year, it goes! We’re moving from Rome at the end of January and I really want need to declutter before we pack up again (more to come about our next adventure!)chanel-jumbo-classic-flap-bag-black-caviar-with-silver-hardware-zara-gray-sweater-coat-best-fall-outfits-with-a-sweater-coatAnother reason to clean out my closets now and again? More room is always necessary for new things, like this cozy sweater coat from Zara. Unfortunately, I couldn’t seem to find it online, but it was only about $40! It doesn’t get super cold in Rome, so I usually wear sweater coats and heavy cardigans more than actual jackets. I wore it for the first time on our trip to Germany and layered a cashmere turtleneck underneath.paul-green-booties-fashion-blogger-germanyThese comfy booties were my souvenir from our trip: the brand is Paul Green and they’re made in Austria (I actually found some online here and here but unfortunately not this exact pair). The wingtip design and kilt-like fringe trim caught my eye and I can never seem to resist another pair of black boots.brixton-wesley-fedora-zara-sweater-coat-fall-outfit-with-gray-sweater-coatzara-sweater-coat-with-black-tunic-turtleneck-and-gray-jeans-brixton-wesley-black-wool-fedora-how-to-wear-a-sweater-coat-for-fallmountains-in-garmisch-germany-fall-in-germany-travel-bloggerMisty mountaintops are a trademark of Germany—there’s something about them that I find so peaceful.zara-gray-sweater-coat-ann-taylor-black-cashmere-turtleneck-tunic-sweater-brixton-wesley-wool-fedora-sweater-coat-with-boots-fall-outfitautumn-color-in-garmisch-germany-fall-leaves-in-germany-travel-bloggerOne of the days we were in Germany, we decided to take a drive on the back roads and visit a few of the neighboring towns outside Garmisch. I was hoping the leaves would be at their peak, but unfortunately this year wasn’t nearly as colorful as when we visited last October. Needless to say, when we saw this spot, I made my husband turn the car around so we could go back and take photos—it’s like a postcard for autumn, right?!
