Happy Monday, everyone, and I hope all of you had a great weekend! My husband and I had a pretty low key couple of days: we had dinner out, did a little shopping, cleaned up around the apartment, and I even found time to put out the fall decorations (I just couldn’t wait any longer!)
While I am not afraid to try new trends and my personal style is ever-evolving, sometimes I always find it refreshing to turn to the classics to create a timeless look. A crisp white button down shirt worn with clean, dark denim and polished accessories is always a combination that will never go out of style (case in point: I’ve probably had this shirt for over ten years and still wear it!)
Nude pumps are a must for every woman’s wardrobe and I waited a long time to get my hands on my dream pair: timeless and elegant, these beauties will be gracing my feet for years to come.
One of the most elegant accessories I can think of is a silk scarf tied at the neck, and I was fortunate to inherit quite a few from my husband’s grandmother (this one is probably my favorite–it’s printed with shoes!) While silk scarves have always been popular in Europe, they’re also making a comeback in the U.S., especially in a casual fashion: try one with a denim jacket or a striped tee shirt for modern appeal.
I’d been eyeing this scarlet beauty for months and finally took her home last week–I think this is just the most perfect shade of red! Not only does the rich hue pair effortlessly with standard black and white, but it also looks gorgeous against gray, brown, and all the textural patterns you see in the fall (leopard, plaid, houndstooth…) so I’ll do my best not to wear it for every future blog post!
