{ Hint of Fall: Striped dress, Pink scarf & Snakeskin satchel }

Happy Monday and I hope all of you had a wonderful weekend, as well as a great start to the new week! Ours was pretty low-key since it was Ferragosto here in Italy, a Catholic holiday that’s also a weekend or sometimes month-long vacation for many Italians. It’s been unbelievably quiet in Rome for the last week, with most of the shops and restaurants in our neighborhood–and even the gym we belong to–closed down for several weeks. Although a little frustrating when you want to go out to dinner, it’s actually been kind of nice, especially for driving, since it’s normally crazy on the roads; it was the perfect opportunity for me to get some scooter driving lessons from my husband yesterday (which you may have seen on my Instagram!) I’m pretty excited because I drove the Vespa solo for the first time–so what if it was just up and down our street (ha!)If you can believe this, it was only 75 degrees yesterday, so I jumped at the chance to don a long-sleeve dress, booties, and a scarf for good measure. The taste of cool weather has me so ready for fall (if you couldn’t already tell). Sorry if the stripes hurt your eyes in some of these shots–for some reason they tend to take on a crazy/psychedelic look in photographs!This snakeskin print satchel is one of my favorite fall handbags and I have really missed carrying it; the mixture of brown colors complements practically any look.
The light shade of this scarf goes along with the neutral theme of my outfit, but the pink adds a bit of an unexpected twist.

This dress is pretty simple, so it’s all about the details: a structured satchel in snakeskin print, suede booties, and rose gold jewelry lend polish and textural interest to the outfit–for casual days, a whole new look can be achieved with sneakers and a denim jacket.
